SITE SECURITY AND RISK

Every effort is made to keep this site secure and personal details safe. However, Surplus Saddlery, its associated businesses and owners, accept no liability for damage to anyone, their property, or fraudulent activity, howsoever caused.

As with all on-line activity, the risk of fraudulent activity and theft of personal data is always possible. If you choose to use this site, you are deemed to have accepted that risk.

Registration

Registration is required to sell, bid or buy, also to add a listing on the employment page. Surplus Saddlery is mainly for private use but suitable local businesses will be considered: please contact admin.

All auctions and registrations will be approved before acceptance.

Items not deemed suited to the site, or inappropriate in any way, will not be accepted.

A telephone number associated with the listed address is required.

OWNERSHIP & FAULTY GOODS

Unless otherwise stated, all items for sale on this site belong to the person selling the item, not the site owner. The site owner is not liable for any damaged, dangerous or ‘not as described’ items, or any injury, howsoever caused, arising from any products bought from individual private sellers.

All transactions are strictly between the seller and buyer.

Listing items for sale

 

No commission is taken from sales but a listing fee is required before the auction  is published.  Anything posted on site will be approved before being published.

The charge is £1, or £1.12 per item depending on payment method.

Items not deemed suited to the site, or inappropriate in any way, will not be accepted.

Delivery or collection

Delivery is subject to the sellers preference. The only option available at checkout is local collection. 

We advise stating in the auction description if posting, or delivery, is an option and that costs will be determined prior to completing the purchase, once you have the address. 

Shipping costs will not be automatically added at checkout.

 

Payment

Payment for items sold and the payment method chosen, is between the seller and the buyer.

Options available at checkout are cash, or bank transfer. Which of these payment methods used is between seller and buyer and must be sorted between them. 

A PayPal invoice could also be issued  (see PayPal for details).

With all payments other than cash, please leave sufficient time for the money to be cleared before handing over the goods.

Do not accept any payment options that involve part payment, or the offer of over paying requiring you to give change, or a part refund.

Disputes

Surplus Saddlery is available to private individuals for the sale and auction of mainly equestrian items. Unless stated to the contrary, assume these items to be used / second-hand.

There is no dispute option. All transactions and any disputes arising must be resolved between seller and buyer. The site owner will not be involved in disputes: please see notes below on 'private sales' .

If you have any doubts - don't buy but do report your concerns.

 SALE & loan of horses

No animals will be accepted as free. A purchase price must be given, or loan, or share clearly stated. For loaning or sharing, all parties involved should make sure there is a signed agreement in place which includes the option to visit and monitor the horse's condition.

Buying and selling

Please be accurate with descriptions and fair with pricing.

Caveat emptor – buyer beware! 

If you are not sure about something you intend to buy – don’t complete the purchase.

If you have concerns about something offered for sale on this site,  please let us know.

Any goods sold by a business are governed by the present Trading Standards regulations. 

EMPLOYMENT

Listing job vacancies, requirments and services is free but registration is required.

Listings will be checked before acceptance. Please make sure that content is acceptable and accurate.

If anyone using this site is concerned about a listing, please get in touch with admin. 

Surplus Saddlery and any associated companies is not responsible for any contractual agreements, employment positions, or injuries resulting from employment, work experience or services offered by advertisers. All agreements and any resulting issues are between employers, employees and engaged companies.

Fixed listing price for all autions and listings.

£1 if using bank transfer, £1.12 if using PayPal
