Adding your items for auction
Sign in
Use top main menu, click on 'My Account' and select 'Store Manager'
To place auctions, click on 3 bar menu in top left corner of your store manager page and select 'Auction'. This will show a top bar menu listing Live Auctions, Expired Auctions and Future Auctions. To the right of this menu, click on the small blue box near top right of screen 'Add New Product'.
Completing the 'add product' details
Select either 'Auction' or 'Simple' product. Use simple product for 'buy now' - anything you don't want auctioned.
Variable, Grouped and External/Affiliated options are not accepted.
Post Title - for example, 'Stirrup Leathers'
Pricing (see below)
Category - if not sure which, you can tick more than one. List exchange Items as 'simple' products. State in the details whether you intend to ask for the listing fee to be paid.
Add pictures - click on the picture frame then choose 'upload files'. Once in the media library, choose your main picture and select. If adding more to the gallery, click those, then 'select'
Selling type can be either, or both, auction and buy now.
Short description - can be left blank or something brief, for example: 'Brown GP Saddle' but the main description is sufficient.
Main description - add detailed information - including whether the item can be returned if not suitable/if delivery is offered/collection only etc.
Pricing
Simple products offer 'price' and 'Sale Price'. Ignore the latter unless you want to schedule a discount if the item does not sell withing the time stated.
For items to be auctioned, you will need to add a start price, lowest price to accept (these can be the same or start price slightly lower to get bidding started) and a buy now price - if this is offered as an option.
Complete dates and times to start and end, then select 'Draft (if completing later) or 'Submit' if ready to go.
Go to payment to pay for the auctions you have placed.
Aditional information
Give as much information as possible accompanied by clear images.
Say whether you are prepared to post or deliver. Don't state a charge until sale is complete, you have the address and have checked the cost of postage / delivery to that address.
If anything for sale needs to be dismantled (a field shelter for example), make sure to give a time limit for this to take place. Setting a time limit for all transactions to be completed is a good idea.
Say whether you are prepared to take the item back if not suitable: set a time limit for return. If not returnable, state this in the description.
If selling a horse, please be honest with the description and fair with the price.
If loaning a horse, make sure you have a contract agreed and signed before the horse leaves you. Check where it is going and the potential loaner. The BHS have information and forms to help you.
Please make sure all items are safe and fit for purpose and if you have any concerns, this should be clearly stated.
There is a fixed fee of £1 per item to sell (to cover charges £1.12 if using PayPal). If you have an item lower than this charge, consider boxing a few items together and add to the Jumble category, or do a 'buy now' price of £1 to cover listing fee.
The only payment options at checkout are cash and bank transfer. If you choose another method of payment, it is between buyer and seller at the time of the sale. (see terms and conditions).
There is no option for delivery - this is also between buyer and seller (see terms and conditions).
All items will be approved by admin and removed if deemed unsuitable.
Please use the form, or email, if you have any queries or issues with registration, or placing items for sale.
