Terms and Conditions

Any registrations from people not buying, or placing an item for auction, will be deleted.

All items for sale belong to the seller. The site owner is not liable for any damaged, dangerous or ‘not as described’ items, or any injury, howsoever caused, arising from any products bought from this auction site. All transactions are strictly between the individual seller and buyer.

No commission is taken from sales.

(When the site is more established a small fee will be taken to list adverts and items for auction: no further charges will be made.)

Payment for items sold and the payment method chosen, is between the seller and the buyer.

Use cash where possible.

If bank transfer and cheque payments are accepted, allow at least 4 working days for clearance. If you and your buyer have PayPal accounts, you can use PayPal to a request payment.

Arrangement for collection, or delivery, is up to the seller and buyer. The site owner is not responsible for any non-payment, or items not arriving after purchase.

If posting, make sure that proof of posting is obtained.

Surplus Saddlery is a platform for the sale and auction of [primarily] equestrian items. There is no dispute option, all transactions and any disputes arising must be resolved between seller and buyer.

Placing your auction

  • Describe the item you are selling accurately and add at least one photograph (you may add up to six).
  • Make pricing fair (if you are not sure what to ask, see if you can find something similar on-line to give you an idea.
  • The post code location is optional, you may prefer to use your nearest town in your description, or just the county. Be careful not to give your exact address until a sale has been agreed, the payment method completed, or to make arrangements for collection.
  • If you accept payment by cheque, allow time for the cheque to clear (this also applies to bank transfers). Where possible, take cash payments.
  • Set a time limit for collection of sold items.
  • For items that may need to be dismantled, for example field shelters, a non-returnable deposit is advised, as well as a time limit for collection.
