ABOUT THIS SITE
Surplus Saddlery is an auction site for the sale of anything to do with horses, as well as boxes, trailers, towing vehicles and a category for non-horse items. The site is Dorset based but open to anyone in the UK, subject to buyers and sellers agreeing their own delivery or collection terms.
The site is also used for clearance items from Warmwell Saddlery.
With the reduction in local press with specific equestrian sections and the increasing number of scams on social media, a more local selling platform will give people a new marketplace to trade. The only option for payment is cash, any other payment option is agreed between seller and buyer (please see our terms about safe payment).
As all sellers are required to register, this will help to reduce fraudulent activity. Anyone wanting to use the site must be registered: all registrations and items for sale must be approved. This is no guarantee against fraud or scams but will help and we ask that users of the site forward details of any suspicious activity – or items for sale.
Payment is between buyer and seller. Surplus Saddlery will take a one-off payment for each item to be auctioned but no commission is taken.

If you are selling a horse, or you want to loan or share, Surplus Saddlery offers the security of a market place that is local.
